TENZ 2009 - Napier
TopMark Products has been invited to participate as a trade representative at TENZ 2009, thereby giving teachers hands on experience of Three Dimensional modelling.
This invitation came as a follow up to the TRCC conference 2008 in Wellington at which Elizabeth Osborn, owner and Managing Director of TopMark Products presented the Keynote Address. A copy of the full address is still to be included on the TopMark website. The following is a few key points:
The Ministry of Education goals for technology education are:
“…to develop seamless quality technology education for all New Zealand students from early childhood, and through years 1-13, as part of students’ general education; and to raise the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning in technology…”
At TopMark we have made our mission:
To develop an idea into physical reality
We have been supplying a range of Modelmaking materials to schools, tertiary institutions and Universities for several years. This range includes sculpting clays, Moldmaking silicones, casting urethanes and plasters, transparent dyes and opaque pigments, as well as finishing with metal coatings and patinas.
These materials can be utilised in the classroom for Technology, graphics and art projects. These could be scale models to provide a visual representation of an idea, several items for testing, or small production runs.
Our expertise and technical knowledge means we can advise on a broad range of requirements and projects. We hold regular workshops at many of the institutions to bring the range of available products to the attention of the advisors and students. We can help with ideas for jewellery making, scale models, ornaments, artwork and prototypes.
Each year new teachers and students are getting involved at the schools and universities, and the end of year exhibitions are a wonderful testament to their commitment and creativity.Visit the TENZ Conference 2009 page at www.tenz.org.nz
