Flexible Urethanes

F15

The F15 is a fast setting, flexible urethane. It is a production oriented material system. The product highlights include:

  • resists moisture absorption, 
  • very easy to use,
  • cures at room temperature,
  • highly resilient,
  • tough,
  • stretchy and tack free
  • and has low viscosity.

This product has a working time of 20 minutes, and can be demolded in 2 to 3 hours.

Colour: Pale yellow/Clear.

Hardness: 15A

45:100 Ratio.

F25


The F25 is a fast setting, flexible urethane. It is a production oriented material system, that features a one to two hour demold time depending on part size and configuration. F25 has a 20 minute gel time, which allows ample time to mix, vacuum de-gas and pour air-free parts.

Typical product uses:

  • -Molds for plaster and concrete;
  • Potting and encapsulation;
  • Molds for epoxies, polyurethanes and polyesters;
  • small molds,
  • soft parts, seals, skins,
  • impact absorbing pads or linings.

Colour: Amber, can be pigmented.

Hardness:  25A

60:100 ratio.

F42

F42 has improved tensile strength and elongation in comparison to the F-40 system it supersedes. The F42 system is a production oriented fast gel and fast de-mold material, which allows time to mix, vacuum de-gas, and pour air-free parts. F42 can be demolded in 2 - 4 hours at ambient temperature, depending on part size and configuration.

Colour: Amber, can be pigmented.

Hardness:  42A

F60


F60 system is a production oriented fast gel and fast de-mold material. It features a work life which allows sufficient time to vacuum de-gas and pour air-free parts. F60 is a firmer urethane, depending on cast thickness, and can be demolded in as little as one hour depending on part size and configuration. 

Colour: Amber, can be pigmented.

F70


F70 system is a production oriented fast gel and fast de-mold material. It features a working time which allows time to mix, vacuum de-gas, and pour air-free parts. F70 can be demolded in as little as one hour depending on part size and configuration.

F82


F82 system is a production oriented fast gel and fast de-mold material. It features a working time which allows time to mix, vacuum de-gas, and pour air-free parts. F82 can be demolded in as little as two hours depending on part size and configuration.

F90


F90 is a two-component urethane casting compound that is specifically formulated for high abrasion and impact resistance. It is recommended for use for the production casting of highly wear-resistant parts and linings. This product is a safe, easy-to-handle, room temperature mixing and curing system that does not contain TDI, MDI, MDA, or MOCA. F90 is relatively insensitive to typical environmental moisture and will make good void-free parts without the problems that some conventional urethane systems exhibit. Because of this product's exceptional toughness and abrasion resistance, castings made with F-90 A/B are particularly suitable for the mineral process and metal forming industries.

LS41 Brushable urethane

LS41 has been developed to provide a 40 Shore A elastomer that has good tensile strength with great elongation and excellent recovery. A two part material, with 1 part liquid of high viscosity and the second part a thick paste. Their combination forms a brushable paste that does not self level. Ideal to brush inside a silicone mold to form a thin flexible skin - this can be backed up with a TopMark flexible foam to make creatures and costumes with a more durable outer surface.

LS41 can be brushed over dry, contaminant free concrete or plaster scultures* and up vertical surfaces. Once set and supported by, and registered into, a rigid case that has allowed for undercuts, the LS41 can be carefully peeled from the master sculpture and refitted into the rigid case. When coated with release agent and allowed to dry the new LS41 mold is ready for use. *Multipiece molds may be required depending on the scuplture.

Product Features: Easy to use; Room temperature mixing and curing; Contains no MOCA, MDA, or MDI; Excellent hydrolytic stability; Contains no oils.

TYPICAL PRODUCT USES: Molds for plaster and concrete; Molds for epoxy, polyurethane and polyester castings or laminates; Skins for creatures.

Flexicast 20

Hardness: 20 Shore A

Flexicast 20 is a two part polyurethane elastomer that cures at room temperature to a flexible, high strength mold rubber. Molds made from Flexicast 20 are durable and require little to no release when casting plasters and waxes. When used with the appropriate release system, Flexicast 20 molds are excellent for casting FortonMG, concrete, polyurethane, polyester and epoxy.

The final parts or molds made from Flexicast 20 will be tough and long wearing, making them ideal for longterm molding requirements. Flexicast 20 can be processed without the aid of vacuum degassing, allowing for larger mold pours and a wider variety of moldmaking conditions. Flexicast 20 will provide excellent chemical resistance to most casting systems while maintaining a high standard of physical properties.

"The product worked very well, I have attached a photo of a few of the
eels, which were cast in a fibre glass mould. The large ones are 1.6m
long weighing around 11 kg, the smaller ones around 1m long, 5 kg.

We inserted g-force data loggers which recorded the forced exerted on
the eel as it passed down the spillway, energy dissipater, then into the
water in the tailrace. This data was compared to bench mark data that
was collected prior to the spillway tests dropping the eels from various
heights/angles (we have report which gives survival rates from different
heights).

Flexicast 65

Flexicast BR

FLEXICAST BR cures to a flexible, high strength mold rubber. Molds made from FLEXICAST BR are durable and long wearing. FLEXICAST BR is suitable for in situ mold making from vertical surfaces. FLEXICAST BR readily bonds to a variety of substrates and is widely used as an adhesive or sealant. It has low shrinkage, convenient 1:1 mix ratio by weight and is blue in colour.

Note: In the photos, we first cast a Soft Foam 60 face, which came out rough and slightly cellular on the surface. We then did another cast where we brushed Flexicast BR into the mold first, then backed up with Soft Foam 60. This gave a much smoother, and stronger skin.

Hardness: 35 Shore A
