GM Foam Latex
Foam latex is ideal for prosthetic make-up appliances and animatronic creature skins.
GM Foam is a four part professional "hot" foam latex system sold by the kit. The foam is whipped in a mixer, with measured amounts of gelling agent, foaming agent and curing agent, then filled into prepared Ultracal Plaster molds and cured in a low temperature oven. Instructions are provided for the use of the product, however a more advanced level of Special Effects Skill is required. Health and safety precautions are explained. It can be made into a variety of densities with the addition of cellular additives.
Foam Latex can be coloured during processing, and a special paint called PAX paint can be made to paint the appliance once it has been glued to the skin. Special medical grade adhesives such as ProsAide are required to stick the appliances to the skin. This process will then require special adhesive removers such as SuperSolv to soften the adhesive when removing to ensure care is taken with the surface of the skin.
